NEW CASTLE — Former FBI agent Jim Fisher will talk about a local murder case next weekend.

The free program, which will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 15, will be in the annex building of the Lawrence County Historical Society. It is being sponsored by the King Beaver Archaeological Society.

Fisher is a true crime author and former criminal justice professor at Edinboro University. His talk will focus on his recent research into the May 1957 murder of Wilmington High School senior Judy Barber by local postal employee Theodore Fordney. A few hours later, Fordney committed suicide in the backyard of his New Wilmington home.

The murder was covered in detail by the New Castle News and generated front-page headlines in the three Pittsburgh newspapers.
