TV reporter to host local ATHENA event

NEW CASTLE — Anita Quinn, a television reporter at WFMJ-TV in Youngstown will emcee the Lawrence-Mercer County ATHENA award celebration Tuesday.

The program begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Park Inn by Radisson in West Middlesex.

During the evening, eight finalists from Lawrence and Mercer counties will be recognized for their personal/professional success, their community involvement and their contributions to the achievements of women.

Two of the finalists — one established leader and one emerging leader — will receive the Lawrence/Mercer County ATHENA Leadership Award and the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award.

Finalists for the ATHENA Leadership Award are Ruthanne Beighley, Sharon; Colleen Chamberlain, New Castle; Carrie Goff, New Castle; Dr. Kathleen Mastrian, Sharpsville; and JoAnn McBride, New Castle.

Finalists for the ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award are Lisa Lombardo, New Castle; Marci Radcliffe, Hermitage; and Lisa Walton, Hermitage.

Sponsored by the Women’s Fund of the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio, the ATHENA Leadership Awards honor those individuals who have achieved excellence in her/his business, profession or community service, have served the community in a meaningful way and have assisted women in their attainment of professional goals and leadership skills.
