Bridge restrictions set for Maitland Lane
Work on a project to rehabilitate the bridge that carries East Maitland Lane over Neshannock Creek will begin next week. The work, in Neshannock and Hickory townships, will be weather permitting.

Judge to speak at Croton service
Lawrence County’s president judge, Dominick Motto, will be the featured speaker at Sunday’s Croton Memorial service. The 2 p.m. program at the Croton Honor Roll is designed to remember America’s veterans.

Pollution prevention project funded in county
The Lawrence County Conservation District received a mini-grant to fund a watershed project. The project — the 2013 Shenango River Watershed Source Water Protection Calendar — was designed to help create awareness for the Shenango River Watershed.

Shenango class of ’72 sets reunion
Shenango High School’s class of 1972 will have its 40th anniversary reunion July 7. The gathering will run from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Villa Banquet Center. The cost is $44 per person if paid before June 2. After that, the cost is $50.

LCARF to provide clinics on cat spaying, neutering
The Lawrence County Animal Relief Fund has openings for its June 9 spay and neuter clinic for cats. The basic cost is $35 and includes a rabies shot if needed. The organization plans to conduct monthly clinics through November. Overflow applications for the clinic will be scheduled for future clinics as available.

Park seeks cleanup volunteers
Moraine State Park is looking for volunteers with paddling experience to help rid Lake Arthur of trash. Those 16 or older is asked to take their canoes or kayaks and life jackets to the McDanel’s Launch area on the north shore at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Law enforcement officials to hold Police Week program
Communities across the United States observe National Police Week to honor law enforcement officers who made the ultimate sacrifice. From May 13 to 19 they will be remembered along with the family members, friends and fellow officers they left behind.

PennDOT to install pavement markers
Work to improve visibility and safety by installing reflective pavement markers is under way in Lawrence County. According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, installation will occur as a slow-moving operation from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through May 18 on the following roads:
