NEW CASTLE —
Jordan Brown is responsible for the deaths of Kenzie Marie Houk, 26, and her unborn baby.
Lawrence County Judge John W. Hodge issued that decision Friday afternoon.
The 14-year-old was accused of the Feb. 20, 2009, shooting of Houk, his father’s fiancée. She died in the New Beaver farm house she shared with Jordan, his father Chris Brown and her two daughters.
Jordan, who was 11 at the time, was charged the next day as an adult. He has been in custody since then. Last fall, his case was transferred to juvenile court.
Within 20 days, Hodge will announce the disposition — the juvenile court equivalent of a sentence.
Reporter Debbie Wachter Morris and news editor Mitchel Olszak talked with attorneys, family and friends at the Lawrence County Government Center. Watch the videos below to get their reaction to the decision.
