Police respond to two shootings in city

NEW CASTLE — New Castle police were investigating two shootings Friday night in the city.

The first occurred at 9 p.m. at Crestview Gardens, where a woman was reported shot in the leg.

Police said about 50 rounds were fired from an automatic weapon in that incident.

The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. on Pinoak Drive in the housing facility.

The second shooting happened about a half hour later at a bar on the South Side. Scanner reports said a man inside Buzz and Rich's Tavern on Hamilton Street was shot. Police were told a suspect left the scene in a Chevrolet Impala and area police forces were looking for the vehicle.

A crowd had gathered at the South Side shooting site and additional officers were called out to control the situation.

No details on the conditions of the either shooting victim or other details were available at press time.

Members of the Brady Bunch, now all in their 50s, recently reunited in front of screaming fans. Now the Rolling Stones, all in or nearing their 70s, are touring again. How old is too old to entertain?

You’re NEVER too old! Age is just a number — more power to ’em!
Geez! I didn’t realize they were THAT old! That’s, like, my grandpa’s age.
Not sure. But I do enjoy a good “Golden Girls” rerun in syndication. Now THAT’S entertainment!
