NEW CASTLE —
New Castle police were investigating two shootings Friday night in the city.

Police said about 50 rounds were fired from an automatic weapon in that incident.
The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. on Pinoak Drive in the housing facility.
The second shooting happened about a half hour later at a bar on the South Side. Scanner reports said a man inside Buzz and Rich's Tavern on Hamilton Street was shot. Police were told a suspect left the scene in a Chevrolet Impala and area police forces were looking for the vehicle.
A crowd had gathered at the South Side shooting site and additional officers were called out to control the situation.
