Police

NEW CASTLE


•Theft. A silver chain with a silver charm was stolen from a car parked in a lot in the 400 block of Long Avenue between Jan. 10 and Wednesday.

STATE

•Burglary. A pistol, five long guns from shotguns to rifles, cash, jewelry and a coin collection were taken from a house on Old Enon-Unity Road, Little Beaver Township, between 2:30 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Wednesday. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pennsylvania state police at (724) 598-2211.

•Theft. An Ellwood City resident reported a metal case containing drum accessories fell from the back of his vehicle on Route 488 at Mercer Road in Perry Township about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and was picked up and taken by someone.

•Accident. Police said Lavarr W. McBride, 50, of Beaver, westbound on Interstate 376 in Union Township at 10:40 a.m. March 13, lost control of his vehicle on the snow-covered road, slid off the north side of the road and struck a guide rail, causing the vehicle to spin counterclockwise. It came to rest facing south on the north side berm. No injuries were reported.

•Accident. Police said Janice Grim, 49, of New Castle, westbound on Route 317 in North Beaver Township at 9 a.m. Monday, was hit by a white vehicle that had pulled from the entrance of Mohawk schools but did not stop. No injuries were reported.

•Assault. Police said Stephanie Ann Blews-West, 36, and Shawan Albert Lyskowka, 42, both of New Castle, got into an argument at 8:30 p.m. March 11 while on Old Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township. Officers said the argument escalated and Blews-West struck Lyskowka in the face breaking his nose. Police said she was charged with simple assault.
