Sarah Stright-Hartley: Your accessories can make — or break — an outfit

NEW CASTLE — One of the things I'm asked most frequently is where I find my jewelry.

Women aren't shy when they see a piece they like, so I'm often stopped while I'm out and asked where my necklace or bracelet is from.

It's no secret that I love accessories. I have a wall full of necklaces dangling in every shape and size — from delicate necklaces I can layer to huge statement necklaces that may hurt my neck by the end of the day (no one said fashion wasn't painless).

I have a tower of bracelets in all colors and materials. And I'm (slightly) ashamed to say I have more watches than is probably normal.

But to me, accessories are what can make or break an outfit. Out running errands in a jeans and T-shirt? A statement necklace added to the outfit automatically makes you look like you put more thought into it than you did. Going out with your girlfriends? An arm stacked with unique bracelets ensures that you look different from the girl next to you.

So because I like to have a lot of jewelry (my husband might call this hoarding), I don't want to pay a lot for pieces that are more trend based.  There are a lot of stores that I pick and choose accessories from — but three of my favorites are Baublebar (for more classic pieces), Forever 21 (for more trend pieces), and Charlotte Russe (for unique pieces). All of these stores have really inexpensive price tags (especially Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe), and a huge selection to choose from.

To the right, I've grabbed a few of my favorites from each store so you can get an idea of the selections.

A few other places I like to peruse for jewelry: RiffRaff, Old Navy, Charming Charlie, and Banana Republic.

I am always on the lookout for new stores to get my accessory on. So tell me in the comments where you like to shop!
