NEW CASTLE —
This week I would like to take time out of my usual ramblings to wish my second born daughter, Ivy, a very, very happy first birthday!
One year ago yesterday I was awaiting the arrival of my precious little baby, not knowing whether or not it was a boy or a girl.
There were some unforeseen circumstances at the end of my pregnancy, but everything fell perfectly into place, and at 4:12pm on April 14, 2013, I delivered a perfectly pink, screaming and healthy 7 pound, 12 ounce baby girl with my husband, my mother, my favorite nurse and best doctor and friend all present to share in the precious gift of life.
Miss Ivy gave us a scare with her health a few weeks later, but it seems as though all of those issues have resolved themselves and at 28 pounds and the same in inches I would say that she is doing just fine!
Through the sleepless nights (roughly 360 of them over the past year so far!), countless diapers, days of crying (for both of us!), unwashed bottles and loads of laundry, she has still remained a light in my life and for that I am so grateful.
So, I would like to wish my baby girl a very happy, healthy and loving birthday with many, many more just like it to follow!
