Sarah Stright-Hartley: It's never too early to start thinking about fall fashion

Though we've recently seen temperatures well into the 90's, these last few days have felt much cooler.  As someone who likes the cooler temperatures and much prefers fall to summer, I've been enjoying thinking about the fall trends and excited to see what will soon be in stores.  So here (and to the right) is a fall preview of the top trends you'll be seeing.  I'd love to know which ones you'll be buying in to.
Color Blocking- A trend that has never really gone away, color blocking is the art of mixing different colors in - you guessed it - blocks.  Wearing complimentary colors throughout your outfit looks well put together and classic.  Keeping your colors muted in fall colors is an easy way to follow this trend.  I love the Victoria Beckham look to the right, and think it's the perfect look for a fall day at the office.
Gray- I love gray for fall - actually, I love gray any time.  But when worn as a chunky knit, or a warm wool coat, it is perfect for the season.  Particularly the gray cape in the picture to the right, I'd love to have that hanging in my closet.
Dark Green- Emerald is the color of the year, so taking a darker version of this color is not surprising for fall.  Try and incorporate it in unexpected ways- an accessory, a professional trouser, or a beautiful coat.  I especially love it when worn military inspired, like the Prabal Gurung outfit to the right.
Knits & Fur- Chunky knits are always in style for fall.  They're warm, generally oversize and can be dressed up or down.  But this fall, consider wearing them along with (faux) fur, and knee high boots.  The effect is chic and trendy.  The Belstaff outfit to the right can easily go from the office to a dinner date- and a transitional outfit is always right up my alley.

Summer is a perfect time for a good read. Where's your favorite place to spend off time with your nose in a book?

Relaxing on the couch
On a bench in the park
By the pool
At the closest beach
