It is coooooooold outside, that much we know.
And if you're like me, this cold weather tends to drag a bit on your mood. Between feeling under the weather and not being able to really enjoy the outdoors, winter can sometimes feel like it takes forever.
One thing that tends to be a cure for these types of days? Bright accessories!
Of course, these pieces tend to feel more spring- and summer-like, but if you pair them with more neutral "winter-type" looks, they feel fresh and are the perfect cure for the winter pain.
If you look to the right, I've shown a bunch of bright shoes, bags and scarves to add the perfect pop of color. In addition, I created a few outfits to show you just how well these accessories can look in winter.
In the first outfit, make your work ensemble a bit more cheerful by pairing your classics — black coat, blue wide leg trousers — with a bright purple bag. The color combination works well and carrying your work necessities in such a bright bag can instantly enhance your mood.
In the second outfit, a beautiful cape over a classic sweater and denim skinny jeans is made more exciting with pops of yellow. The beautiful shade also will brighten up your face, and who doesn't want a great glow on a dreary winter day?
Finally, a faux fur vest, black skinny jeans and a striped sweater is made more interesting with a pair of aqua shoes. You can even take this look up a notch by adding aqua (or other shades of blue) into your jewelry — or add a great blue patterned scarf.
With these ideas in mind, go ahead and give your winter outfits a kickstart and keep the dreary mood at bay.
