Sarah Stright-Hartley: OK, it’s official — white looks great anytime of year

NEW CASTLE — Now that it's officially OK to wear white (just kidding: that's not a real thing anymore, wear it any time you want), I love seeing all white outfits.

The monotone look is slimming and chic when done correctly. If you're a bit messy and seem to attract stains (like me), all white can be intimidating but if you've got the guts, I say go for it anyway. Maybe just go easy on the ketchup for the day.

To the right I've put together three ways to wear all white, no matter what the occasion.

•Professional — Look professional and classic in a white button-down shirt with lace detail and perfectly fitted white trousers. Make the look even more chic by pairing the look with classic accessories like nude heels and a gold watch. If you need to dress the look up more, just add a white fitted blazer. As long as you don't have gigantic shoulder pads in the jacket, you won't look like you've just come from the Miami Vice set.

•Casual — A perfect white T-shirt, those are always my favorite things to wear and I'm constantly on the hunt for the best fitting, best feeling, and best quality one (so far my top choice is J.Crew).  When worn with white skinny jeans, or white boyfriend jeans, the look is casual chic.  Wear brown leather sandals, a simple brown belt and layered necklaces for a cool look while running errands.

•Date — For date night, try a one shoulder white top with white patterned jeans. A statement necklace and sexy black shoes complete the look for a night out on the town.  Also consider a simple tank and a white skirt when the heat is unbearable for a look that will keep you cool but also be perfect for dinner and a movie.

What do you think of the all white look?

Do you talk to yourself when you're alone?

Yes, but I’m basically just thinking out loud.
No, that would be weird.
I don’t know. Next time I’m alone, I’ll ask.
