NEW CASTLE —
Note to all the men out there — Valentine's Day is coming SOON!
I've never been a huge fan of the holiday, but I do love dressing up for it. Any reason to get dressed up, right? So if you're looking for a bit of Love Day inspiration, here are a few ideas, no matter what you might be doing that night.
If you're planning on staying at home with your sweetheart for a romantic night, keep comfy and cozy, like in the first photo. For the women, a red sweatshirt (bonus points if it mentions the word "love"), boyfriend jeans and cozy flats are perfect. For the men, a cozy sweatshirt is just as appropriate with easy jeans and sneakers.
The most important part of this night? The cake, wine and flowers.
If you're going out with friends, the second photo has great men's and women's options. A dress for the women in red, with a heart-shaped back, and a pretty bow belt is sweet for the night. Black tights (to keep warm) and red shoes are the perfect background for a sparkly headband and clutch. The men can get a bit more dressed up in a red plaid, button-down, gray sweater and dark denim. Dress shoes and a nice watch finish the look.
Enjoy those drinks with friends!
Finally, the third outfit shows the ultra fancy night out. A silver dress (with feathers) and a red patent belt is perfect for the women. Strappy heels, and beautiful jewels add a bit of fun to the look. For the men, nothing says "ultra fancy" like a beautifully fit suit. A simple red and white striped tie will match perfect with your lady.
And the finishing touch? A bouquet of red roses — perfect for a night to remember.
What are your plans for Valentine's Day? Whether hanging out with your loved one, or a group of friends, I hope your day is filled with love.

At any time during the spring and summer, we may get a signal from our local officials that there is inclement weather that can turn threatening. Sarah Stright-Hartley: Looking for stylish way to pack your possessions? It’s in the bag
One of the most personal things a woman buys is a handbag. It holds all of her prized possessions. So when shopping for a new bag, there are a lot of things to consider. Size, color, quality, fabric and length of use. Is she looking for something to use year round, or something that can be changed each season?

The sweetest person you know deserves something equally sugary on Sunday. That would be your mother and the occasion is Mother’s Day. It's spring, it's spring! It finally feels like spring! Maybe I shouldn't say that too loudly, I don't want to scare it off. Anyway, one of the best parts of spring is seeing all of the pretty flowers popping up around the area.
