Sarah Stright-Hartley: Some perfect fits for heading back to work

NEW CASTLE — I'm heading back to work soon and I've really been thinking about my work wardrobe — especially because I'm hoping most of it still fits my post-baby body.

I've finally gotten to the mentality that I want to invest in quality pieces that can be mixed and matched in several ways so they'll be worth the price tag. So I've been coming up with lots of workplace inspiration outfits to help me decide what I'd like to add to my closet in the coming months for a more professional, grown-up look.

To the right are three of those inspiration looks.

For spring, I always love a nautical look. But to make sure it easily transitions between seasons, I chose chic, basic pieces that can be worn with anything. Navy wide leg pants look just as perfect in fall and winter as they do in spring and can be dressed up with a blazer and button down shirt, or dressed down with a casual tee and sandals.

For this look I went with a simple white peplum top — flattering on most figures and a piece that can also be worn with jeans on the weekends.  To further define the waist, I’ve added a red belt, and the red shoes also add to the nautical feel. I love a statement necklace and classic gold watch for a work day.

The second look focuses on a high-waist skirt. For spring, a tan pencil skirt paired with a black tee and brown belt (yes, black and brown are wonderful together) looks pulled together and is also comfortable. Plus the pencil skirt is one of those classic pieces that all women should have in their closet since it can be worn with nearly everything. To add personality to the look, I chose a layered necklace look and a pile of wrist jewelry.

Finally, I love a patterned dress with a professional and classic shape. This dress is trendy but will remain "in fashion" for years because of the shape. I happen to love the mixed patterns and bright color (I actually have a dress similar to this that I wear constantly). Since the dress is so loud, I kept the accessories fairly muted with simple black booties, a bold black cuff and a classic clutch. This outfit is great for the office but also for after-work drinks or a dinner party.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
