NEW CASTLE —
Because of the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, garbage collections will be pushed back for most New Castle residents.
The change is because the landfill is closed both of those days.
Public works director Mike Rooney noted Monday collections will be as usual.
However, because no collections will be made on the two holidays, which fall on Tuesdays, the Tuesday collections those weeks will be pushed back to Wednesday, Wednesday pickups will move to Thursdays and Thursdays will be on Fridays.
Recycling collections scheduled for Christmas week will be on Saturday.
Normal garbage and recycling collections will resume the week of Jan. 6.
