On the Record: Today's births, police items, and district judge reports

•Criminal mischief. Someone threw a rock through a window of a home in the 900 block of South Jefferson Street between 11:30 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday.

•Accident. Police said Destini Kelly, 19, of 2121 Moravia St. stuck a pole on Long Avenue at Moravia Street around 1:35 a.m. Sunday. Kelly told officers she had been going west when a front tire of her car malfunctioned and she veered off the road. Police said she failed field sobriety tests and submitted to a blood alcohol test. She was treated at the hospital for a sore knee and released. Police said charges are pending.

•Drug arrest. Jeremy Lamarr Perkins, 23, of Apt. G., 1005 Beech St., faces drug charges after police pulled his car over on Court Street at South Ray Street around 10 p.m. Wednesday and allegedly found 1.8 ounces of marijuana in his car and on his person. Police also seized a digital scale and $299. Perkins faces one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, following too closely and having a windshield obstruction dangling from his inside mirror.

•Burglary. A television and five pairs of shoes were stolen from an apartment in the 400 block of Neshannock Avenue between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday. Police said the front door was damaged.


•Accident. Police said Andrew R. Butera, 24, of 181 Pope Drive, Wampum, eastbound on Glen Road, Neshannock Township, at 4 a.m. Thursday, fell asleep and went off the road, striking a tree. Police said Butera sustained a minor injury to the face and head and was taken to Jameson Hospital. His vehicle sustained severe damage and was towed.

•Accident. Police said Thomas G. Patterson, 58, of 323 Park Ave., northbound on Wilmington Road about 1 a.m. Thursday, suffered a medical problem and blacked out. Officers said his vehicle left the road, struck several signs, a lamp post at the Palumbo building, a large rock and a utility pole. Police said Patterson sustained a minor injury and was taken to Jameson Hospital. His car was towed. Police were assisted by the township volunteer fire department and New Castle police department. Route 18 was closed for a while.

•Arrest. Police arrested Eric John Whisel, 19, of 720 Carlisle St. for retail theft after finding him with $43 in merchandise taken from Family Dollar at 1702 Wilmington Road about 8:30 a.m. Thursday. Police also determined Whisel was wanted on robbery charges, filed by the New Castle police department.
