Police

STATE

•Theft. Several items were reported stolen from a car in the 3600 block of Frew Mill Road between Sept. 3 and 4.

•Burglary. Sealing tar was reported missing from East Coast Paving of Evergreen Road, Pulaski Township, between Aug. 30 and Sept. 1.

NEW CASTLE

•Theft. A blue 2003 Chrysler Sebring was reported stolen from an alley in the 400 block of Valley Street between midnight Sunday and 8:30 a.m. Monday.

•Attempted burglary. Someone tried to break into a house in the 1200 block of Huron Avenue. A door was damaged.

•Accident. Police said a freightliner pulled the cable and phone wires off of a house in the 800 block of Oak Street  at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday and damaged the siding. The C&A Transport truck was driven by Nail Muratovic, 42, of Waterloo, Iowa.

•Burglary. A nail gun, socket set, air compressor, table saw and tool box were reported stolen from a garage in the 400 block of Boyles Avenue between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday.

•Theft. Scrap metal was reported stolen from Bill and Norm’s Auto Sales on Butler Avenue between Saturday and Monday. Police learned from New Castle Recycling that someone tried to sell the stolen property, and the seller allegedly was identified as Aaron Vogus, 38, of 1809 E. Washington St. Police arrested him and charged him with four counts of receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and driving while his license is suspended.

MELISSA A. AMODIE

•Mary Lewter, 43, of New Castle, charged by New Castle's code enforcement department with gutters and downspouts violation.

New Castle police charged the following:

•Michael L. Jenkins, 47, of New Castle, public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

•Destiny C. Smith, 36, of New Castle, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness and similar misconduct.

JENNIFER NICHOLSON

•Travis James Panezich, 19, of Poland, Ohio, charged by state police with four counts of aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence, two counts of driving under the influence and one count each of purchase of an alcoholic beverage by a minor, failure to stop at stop sign, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving and reckless driving.

DAVID B. RISHEL

•Vincent John Sorbo, 23, of New Castle, charged by the Lawrence County district attorney with failure to have dog or cat vaccinated and failure to produce license.

Court Sentences

•Richard Lee Agey Jr., 35, Ellwood City — 28 days to six months in the Lawrence County jail with credit for 28 days; $1,000 fine; costs of prosecution; assessment by Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol; $217 restitution to state police crime lab; 20 hours community service; 12 months license suspension. He pleaded guilty to DUI.

•Richard Lee Agey Jr., 35, Ellwood City —One year probation to be served on a consecutive basis with the DUI. He pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance.

•Leroy Graham, 55, New Castle — 11 to 23 months in Lawrence County jail with credit for 399 days served. He pleaded guilty to cruelty to animals.

•Leroy Graham, 55, New Castle —  11 to 23 months  incarceration with credit for 399 days served, to be served concurrently with any other sentence. He pleaded guilty to simple assault.

•Leroy Graham, 55, New Castle — Probation is revoked and a sentence on a charge of terroristic threats is reimposed in total except for the term of probation. He is   to serve one to two years in a state correctional institution, concurrent  with any other sentence imposed.

•Johnette R. King, 28, New Castle —Two years intermediate punishment program, the first 90 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring and the remaining 21 months on probation; $1,500 fine; costs of prosecution; assessment by Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol; 18-month license suspension. She pleaded guilty to DUI.

•Ryan Scott Kelly, 39, Ellwood City  — Six days to six months in the Lawrence County jail; $1,000 fine;  prosecution costs; Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol assessment; 12-month license suspension. He pleaded guilty to DUI.

•Ryan Scott Kelly, 39, Ellwood City  — $200 fine. He  pleaded guilty to driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked.

•Tammy L. Herb, 40, New Castle — One year intermediate punishment program the first 30 days on house arrest with electronic monitoring, the remaining 11 months on probation; $23.78 restitution to Shop ‘n Save;  prosecution costs; Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol assessment; DNA sample. She pleaded guilty to retail theft.

•David Richard Broge III, 46, Koppel —One year probation; costs of prosecution; $600 restitution; Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol assessment. He pleaded guilty to fraud.

•Marina Lynn Jackson, 27, New Castle  — Six months probation; costs of prosecution; $82.26 restitution to Walmart; Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol assessment. She pleaded guilty to retail theft.

•Ariel J. Prosser, 22, New Castle — $150 fine; costs of prosecution. She pleaded guilty to defiant trespass.

•Alya-Wan Johnson, 20, New Castle — Six days to 23 1/2 months in Lawrence County jail with credit for 15 days served; costs of prosecution; Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol assessment; enrollment in adult literacy class. Any evidence seized by law enforcement is forfeited. He pleaded guilty to carrying a concealed firearm without a license.

•Cameron Jordan Hicks, 19, New Castle — One year probation; community service; costs of prosecution; Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol referral. He pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property.

•Joseph Oliva, 50, New Castle — Two years intermediate punishment program, the first three months on house arrest with electronic monitoring; no contact with the victim; $6,229.68 restitution to the victim; costs of prosecution; community service; Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol referral. He pleaded guilty to criminal trespass.

•Matthew Joseph Malley, 37, New Castle — One year  probation; $100 fine; costs or probation. He pleaded guilty to providing false identification to law enforcement authorities.

•Matthew Joseph Malley, 37, New Castle — $200 fine; costs of prosecution; community service; Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol referral. He pleaded guilty to driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked.

•Shelly Denise Anderson, 44, New Castle — One to 12 months in Lawrence County jail with credit for 32 days served; costs of prosecution. She pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance.

•Shelly Denise Anderson, 44, New Castle — One to 12 months in Lawrence County jail, with credit for 32 days served; costs of prosecution, to run concurrently with any other sentence being served, followed by one year probation. Any evidence seized by law enforcement is forfeited. She pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance.

•Thomas Matthew Dolan, 28, New Castle — Six to 23 months in Lawrence County jail with credit for 180 days served followed by one year probation; DNA sample; $3.200 restitution to the victim; community service; costs of prosecution; Lawrence County Drug and Alcohol assessment. He pleaded guilty to theft.
