'Canes advance to WPIAL Championships

NEW CASTLE — The New Castle High basketball team will play for the WPIAL Quad-A championship. The Red Hurricane earned its way into the title game by rolling past Seneca Valley 71-46 in the two teams' semifinal round matchup at Ambridge. The 'Canes will play Hampton, which beat North Allegheny 66-62 in the other semifinal. That game is scheduled for Saturday at the A.J. Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh.
